The new Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial goes live on 23 July 2026 and runs for the usual two weeks, ending on 6 August 2026. This round takes us to Fuji International Speedway in Gr.2 on Racing Medium tyres.
Gr.2 at Fuji is a properly fitting combination. This is Super GT machinery at one of the circuits Super GT actually races on, so the cars look and feel right at home here. It's also seriously fast, and the leaderboard times already suggest this one is going to separate the patient drivers from the rest.
Gr.2 at Fuji: What to Expect
The current world-best is sitting at 1:27.114, which is committed pace for a lap with this much elevation and this many technical corners after the straight. Based on how Polyphony usually sets the cut-offs, I'd expect the gold target to land somewhere in the 1:29.3 to 1:29.6 range.
Gr.2 cars carry serious downforce and serious power, which makes them enormously fast but also demanding. On Racing Mediums the grip window is decent, but these cars punish anyone who isn't precise with their inputs, especially on corner entry where the aero balance shifts quickly.
Best Gr.2 Cars for Fuji
Unlike the recent one-make Time Trials, this one gives you a genuine car choice, and in Gr.2 that choice matters. The category is Super GT GT500 machinery, so you've got the Nissan, Honda and Lexus contenders alongside a handful of older Gr.2 cars, and the balance between them tends to shift depending on how much straight-line speed a track demands.
Fuji's 1.5 km straight means top speed and straight-line efficiency carry real weight here, so expect the leaderboard to lean towards the NSX.
Community Event: Set a Lap, Win Prizes
We're hosting a new community event on this exact combination, and you've got a chance to win some great prizes just for taking part. Head to Fuji International Speedway in Gr.2 and set a lap time on the leaderboard. That's it. Post a time and you're automatically entered.

Fuji Challenge by GT OmegaThe prizes
• 1× Yearly subscription
• 1× Online course access
• 1× EDGE merch mystery pack (including a NEW T-shirt and NEW socks)
Winners are selected completely at random at the end of the event, so everyone who sets a time has a shot, not just the fastest drivers. No pressure to be an alien, just get a lap in. Drop your lap, cross your fingers, and good luck.
Final Thoughts
Gr.2 at Fuji looks like a proper grinder, fast, technical, and unforgiving in the wrong places. The Super GT machinery at a Super GT circuit is a combination that just works, and having a real car choice back in play after a run of one-makes makes it more interesting again. The 1:27.114 already on the board is strong, and I'd expect the WR to drop into the mid 1:26s by the end of week one.
