Honda Racing eMotorsports 2025 is officially returning to Gran Turismo 7, and it's bringing a new level of excitement to the virtual racing scene. As a platform committed to covering the biggest stories in motorsports and gaming, we're thrilled to highlight what’s shaping up to be one of the most dynamic esports events of the year. The news, shared on both the official Gran Turismo and Honda website, signals a thrilling season ahead for fans and competitors alike.
Hosted by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the Honda Racing eMS 2025 will once again take place in Gran Turismo 7, inviting players from all over the globe to compete in a high-stakes, skill-based battle behind the wheel.
What’s New in 2025
Now in its third year, the event has evolved. The 2025 season introduces a unified online qualifying format. Instead of dividing participants by age, everyone now competes in one category. This change opens the door to even more competitive and diverse matchups.
The Grand Final, which previously took place exclusively in Japan, will now be held online. For the first time, the final event will be split across three global regions: Europe, Middle East and Africa; the Americas; and Asia-Oceania. Each region will crown its own champion, making this a truly international showdown.
Online Qualifier: Dates and Details
The action begins on Friday, August 29, and runs through Sunday, September 28. The Online Qualifier will be held as a time trial on Autodrome Lago Maggiore, a fictional 5.8 km course in Gran Turismo 7 known for its complex corners and dramatic elevation changes.
Anyone aged 7 and above (6 and above in Japan) is eligible to enter. Competitors will drive a specially designed version of the Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT '16, featuring custom livery with branding from event partners including Alps Alpine Co., Ltd., NTT Technocross Corporation’s "iDoperation" and "HM-neo" tools, and Dominique Doucet, a well-known bakery with roots in Suzuka City.
Set a Time, Win a Car
Participants who set a valid time in the Online Qualifier rankings will be rewarded with the special-livery Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT '16 for use in Gran Turismo 7. It's a stylish addition to any collection and a token of participation in this global event.
The Grand Final: December 6 and 7
The top 10 players from each region, 30 in total, will advance to the online Grand Final, scheduled for December 6 and 7. This stage is open to players aged 18 and over. Winners will be determined within each region, and the title of Regional Champion will be on the line.
Since 2023, Honda Racing eMS has welcomed over 400,000 participants. The 2025 edition promises to continue that momentum, offering a bigger platform, higher stakes, and more intense competition than ever before. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one. Whether you’re competing or watching from the sidelines, Honda Racing eMS 2025 is an event you won’t want to miss. Stay tuned for more updates, and good luck to all the racers getting ready to take the track.
