Overview
The Peugeot 9X8 marked Peugeot’s return to the top category of endurance racing under the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) regulations, ending an absence that had lasted since 2011. Introduced in 2022, the innovative hybrid prototype initially stood out with its radical aerodynamic philosophy, most notably the absence of a traditional rear wing. As part of a major evolution package introduced for 2024, Peugeot adopted a rear wing to improve overall performance and competitiveness. Building on those changes, the 2025-specification 9X8 represented the most refined version of the car to date, delivering improved balance, efficiency, and consistency. Its progress was highlighted by a strong second-place finish at Fuji during the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
