DG EDGE

Community guidelines

The rules for posting in the forum, Showroom and setups, for events and teams, and for sharing on Traces.

Last updated: 26 October 2026.

What these guidelines cover

DG-EDGE is a place to race, compare and share. These guidelines set out what you can post, what is not allowed, and what we do when something goes wrong. They apply to everything you add to DG-EDGE and to the Traces community hub:

  • forum threads, posts, replies, mentions and channels;
  • Showroom photos and the comments under them;
  • setups and setup ratings;
  • community events, live community events and tournaments, including their results;
  • teams, team pages and invitations;
  • your player profile, including the photos and links you add and the PSN profile you claim;
  • Traces sessions you publish, and lap videos shared by Creators.

They sit alongside our Terms and conditions, which contain the binding rules on acceptable use and on the content you share. If the two ever differ, the Terms and conditions apply. Community competitions also follow the Competitions and prizes rules. How to report illegal content or a copyright problem is explained in the Notice and takedown procedure.

Who can post what

What you can create depends on your plan. The plan page at dg-edge.com/account/subscription shows the current list.

Plan What you can add
Registered (free) Follow players, threads and bookmarks; reply and react in the community; upload to the Showroom and comment on Showroom photos
Claimed profile (free) Everything in Registered, plus a profile page with photos and links; start threads; submit setups; create and join community events; create or join 1 team
Premium Everything in Claimed profile, plus organise tournaments; live community events synced with the dailies; your own forum channels; up to 5 teams; read and post in the Traces community hub

A free account is enough to upload to the Showroom, as in the Competitions and prizes rules. Today any signed-in member, free or Premium, can upload.

The basics

  • Be respectful. Argue about lines, setups and lap times, not about people.
  • Post things you have the right to share: your own photos, your own setups, your own laps.
  • Keep it about Gran Turismo and sim racing, and post in the right place.
  • Be honest about who you are and what you drove.
  • You can post in any language. English is the main language of the site, and we discuss and answer in English.

What is not allowed

We remove content, and may restrict accounts, for any of the following.

  • Illegal content, or links to it, under EU or Croatian law or the law of the country where you are.
  • Harassment and threats: insults aimed at a person, pile-ons, intimidation, or following someone across the site to target them. This includes using @mentions, invitations or reports to bother someone.
  • Hate: attacks on people for their nationality, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
  • Sexual content, nudity, and graphic violence or gore.
  • Other people's personal data: real names, addresses, phone numbers, private messages or photos of someone without their permission.
  • Impersonation: pretending to be another driver, a team, a brand or a member of the DG-EDGE team, or claiming a player profile that is not yours.
  • Fake results: uploading laps as yours that someone else drove, editing results of an event or tournament, or entering a competition with more than one account to collect votes.
  • Spam: repeated posts, mass invitations to teams or events, unrelated links, and advertising or referral and discount codes posted without our permission. The team invitation screen already warns that spamming leads to the blocking of your profile.
  • Scams and malware: phishing, fake giveaways, links to harmful files, or requests for other members' passwords or sign-in codes.
  • Content you do not have the rights to: other people's photos, liveries, videos or setups passed off as yours, paid content shared without permission, and copies of copyrighted material.
  • Selling or sharing accounts, and getting around the limits of your plan.
  • Cheating tools: posting or promoting tools that modify Gran Turismo 7 or break its rules or Sony's terms. We do not run anti-cheat tools, but we may disqualify or remove entries and results if we see fraudulent behaviour.
  • Disrupting the site: anything that damages DG-EDGE or Traces, or gets in the way of other people using them.

Forum, channels and comments

  • Pick the right channel and give your thread a title that says what it is about.
  • Search before you start a new thread, and do not post the same thing in several channels.
  • Quote and mention people to discuss what they said, not to target them.
  • If you own a channel (Premium) or a team channel, you look after it. Reports about content in your channel are sent to you by e-mail as well as to the author, so you can act on them. Channel owners can delete any thread or post in their channel; deleted items are hidden, and the DG-EDGE team can still see them. Team owners and team admins can remove a member and block them from asking to join again. Organisers of events and tournaments can remove a player. Only DG-EDGE editors and administrators can delete content anywhere on the site.
  • In the Traces community hub, posts are plain text up to 4,000 characters, and you can post once every 30 seconds. The Announcements space is for the DG-EDGE team only. Threads in Reports (from the app's Report a problem) are private between you and the team.

Showroom

  • Upload Gran Turismo 7 captures that you made yourself.
  • Do not upload someone else's photo, even with credit, unless they have agreed. Do not remove watermarks or signatures.
  • Titles, descriptions and tags must describe the photo. No advertising in them.
  • Photos with car liveries or decals made by others are fine, as long as the photo is yours. If the livery creator asks us to remove it, we follow the Notice and takedown procedure.
  • Showroom photos may be entered in community competitions. The Competitions and prizes rules explain how.

Setups

  • Share setups you built yourself, or say clearly where a setup comes from.
  • Do not post setups that someone else sells, or that were shared with you privately.
  • Give the right car, track and settings, so others can trust the numbers.
  • Rate setups on how they work, not on who made them.

Community events and tournaments

  • Give accurate details: date and time, track, car, regulations and how results are decided.
  • Record results honestly. Do not change results after the event without telling the drivers why.
  • As an organiser, you decide who takes part and you can remove a driver from your event. Use this fairly and explain your reasons to the driver.
  • Invite people who are likely to want to race. Do not mass-invite.
  • Do not run betting through DG-EDGE events. Members who organise their own events may charge an entry fee or offer their own prizes. That is between the organiser and the participants, and DG-EDGE takes no responsibility for entry fees, prizes or anything else that goes wrong. Events run by DG-EDGE are free at the moment; DG-EDGE may charge an entry fee for some events in future.
  • Racing etiquette on track is a matter for the organiser's rules. Repeated deliberate wrecking, or abuse in the lobby, can still be reported to us.

Teams

  • Team names, tags, logos and descriptions follow the same rules as everything else: nothing offensive, nothing you do not have the rights to, no impersonation of real teams or brands.
  • Team owners manage members and roles, and can block a player from joining the team.
  • Do not use team invitations as advertising.

Your profile and profile claims

DG-EDGE builds player pages from the public Gran Turismo 7 rankings, so a page for you may exist before you sign up. You can claim it to link it to your account.

  • Claim only your own PSN profile. You can claim one profile per account.
  • There are two ways to claim: the DG-EDGE browser extension, which checks your sign-in on the Gran Turismo website, or a photo of your screen with the in-game dashboard and a piece of paper with your name, PSN ID and the date. Photo claims are checked by hand and can take up to a week.
  • If someone has claimed your profile, write to digit@dg-edge.com. We may remove a claim that we reasonably believe is not genuine.
  • Photos and links you add to your profile follow these guidelines. Links to your own stream, channel or social pages are welcome.

Traces sessions and lap videos

  • New Traces uploads are Public by default and appear on your public page and on the leaderboards. Publish only laps you drove yourself.
  • Do not change a session's car, track or times to make it look like something it is not.
  • Creators who share lap videos must have the right to everything in the video, including any music.

How we moderate

The DG-EDGE team moderates the site. Channel owners and team owners look after their own spaces, but the team has the final say. We act on reports, on what we see ourselves, and on notices and orders described in the Notice and takedown procedure. DG-EDGE has no private messaging between members.

What we can do depends on how serious the problem is and whether it has happened before:

  1. Remove or hide the content, or ask you to edit it. Administrators can edit and delete any post.
  2. Warn you, by e-mail or notification, saying what was wrong.
  3. Restrict your account for a period, for example from posting, uploading or organising events. There is no tool for this yet: today we can only block a whole account, which stops it signing in until we lift the block. Team owners can block a member from their team.
  4. Suspend your account for a set period.
  5. Close your account, for serious or repeated breaches.

We can skip steps for serious cases, such as threats, illegal content, scams or impersonation. Where content may involve a threat to someone's life or safety, we may also tell the authorities.

When we remove your content or restrict your account, we tell you what we did, why, and which rule it was based on, unless the law stops us or the content is spam. If your account is suspended or closed while you pay for Premium, the Terms and conditions and the Subscriptions, cancellation and refunds policy explain what happens to your subscription. If you are suspended while you pay for Premium, there is no refund before your renewal date. If you ask for a refund, we make it straight away.

Content you delete is hidden from other users. The Traces community hub keeps deleted posts so that moderation does not lose history. On both sites, deleted forum posts are kept, hidden, until the author asks us to delete them or closes their account and asks for deletion. Showroom posts and setups you delete are removed at once.

If you disagree with a decision

Reply to the message we sent you, or write to digit@dg-edge.com, within six months of the decision. Tell us which content or account it is about and why you think the decision is wrong. Someone who was not involved in the first decision looks at it again, and we tell you the outcome. If we were wrong, we restore the content or lift the restriction without undue delay. The full steps are in the Notice and takedown procedure.

How to report a problem

Report button

Forum posts, threads, channels, Showroom photos and Showroom comments have a Report option in the ··· menu. You need to be signed in to use it.

  1. Open the ··· menu on the post, thread, channel, photo or comment, and choose Report.
  2. In Report content, fill in your name, your e-mail address and the Report reason. Say what is wrong and which rule it breaks.
  3. Tick the box that lets us use your details to handle the report, complete the captcha and send.

Your report reaches the DG-EDGE team. The author of the content, and the owner of the channel or team where it was posted, also receive an e-mail saying it has been reported, with the reason you wrote. Your name and e-mail address are not included in that e-mail, so do not put them in the reason.

Other ways to report

  • For anything without a Report button (events, tournaments, teams, setups, profiles, Traces sessions, lap videos), write to digit@dg-edge.com with a link to the page.
  • For illegal content or a copyright or trademark complaint, follow the Notice and takedown procedure. You do not need an account for this.
  • For problems in the Traces app, use Report a problem in the app or our Discord server.

Do not use reports to settle arguments. Reports that are false on purpose, or sent again and again about the same content, can themselves lead to action against your account.

Changes to these guidelines

We may update these guidelines as the community grows. We publish changes on this page with a new date at the top.
