The Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship is back and bigger than ever. After launching last year with an exciting Season Zero, the championship delivered a unique and thrilling virtual racing experience, uniting drivers and the gaming industry in a competitive showcase that transcended individual titles.
Now, Season One kicks off across multiple platforms: Assetto Corsa Competizione (on console and PC), Gran Turismo 7, iRacing, and RENNSPORT.
The action is already underway in Gran Turismo 7. You can check out the live leaderboard below. This qualifier runs for 30 days, giving you ample time to perfect your lap. Only the top 24 drivers will earn their spot in Division 1, while another 24 will be randomly selected for Division 2 through a raffle. To qualify, you must secure a position in the top 24.
All other drivers who complete at least one valid lap will enter the raffle to fill the remaining Division 2.1 and 2.2 spots.
There are also two special opportunities to qualify via live events at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Both will host a fan zone featuring racing simulators, likely running Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, where attendees can compete on the spot.
This season, the championship features a total of 240 drivers across all platforms. Each title will be split into two divisions:
• Assetto Corsa Competizione (PC and console): 24 drivers per division
• iRacing: 24 drivers per division
• Gran Turismo 7 and RENNSPORT: Two first divisions and two second divisions, 12 drivers each
Each platform will highlight its unique strengths, with different tracks and challenges per title. The top three performers from all 240 participants will earn exclusive prizes, offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences tied to the three pillars of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport: Formula 1, Customer Racing, and Virtual Motorsport.
New this year: a fourth prize will be awarded via a token raffle. Each completed race earns you one token. At the end of the season, one lucky participant will win — and the more you race, the better your chances.
Race Days take place every two weeks throughout the summer and autumn, each consisting of Practice, Qualifying, Main Race, and a “gamified” challenge race with bonus points for feats like most overtakes or fastest lap among lower-placed finishers
Race Day Schedule GT7:
• July 30 – Autodromo Nazionale Monza
• August 13 - Autodrome Lago Maggiore
• August 27 - Autódromo de Interlagos
• September 10 - Alsace
• September 24 - Red Bull Ring
• October 8 - WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
• October 22 – Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
Promotions and relegations will shake up the grid after Race Days 3 and 5. The top three from each Division Two will move up, while the bottom three from Division One will be relegated. The top three in each division will win a trophy or small prize. The overall top three across all platforms will receive:
• A Formula 1 trackside experience
• A GT car driving experience
• A Mercedes-AMG gaming bundle
• Plus, one lucky driver will win a Mercedes-AMG x MSI gaming laptop in the end-of-season token raffle.
To participate, register via the dedicated page on the Mercedes-AMG website. You’ll need an account on TheSimGrid and must join the official event Discord, a step many missed last year. Entry is open to anyone aged 16 or older as of July 30, 2025, with the required hardware and software.
