Opel and Vauxhall have just pulled the covers off an electrifying new edition: the Corsa GSE Gran Turismo Vision Concept. Created for the world of Gran Turismo, this radical virtual showpiece previews the future of small performance EVs while offering a bold new take on the Corsa nameplate.
This latest addition to the Vision GT lineup imagines what a high-performance, all-electric hot hatch could look like if unrestrained by real-world limitations. But while it’s destined for the digital racetrack, the concept carries several design elements and ideas that are expected to shape future Opel and Vauxhall road cars, including the next-generation Corsa.
At the heart of the concept is a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that delivers a staggering 800 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. According to the brand, that theoretical power output launches the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 2 seconds. Built on the new Stella Small platform, which will underpin future production cars such as the upcoming Corsa and Peugeot 208, the concept also boasts an impressively low weight of 1.17 tons. Also, with the latest edition of the Chevrolet models, it feels like the Vision Grand is gaining momentum. Vision project is expanding, and this is just one more model adding to the growing lineup.
Visually, the Corsa GSE Vision Concept pushes the boundaries of compact car design. The front end showcases a reworked version of Vauxhall and Opel’s now-signature visor grille, featuring a central crease that aligns with the badge, a detail derived from the brands’ growing Compass design language. The visor is now body-colored and set beneath a smooth glass-like panel, evolving the look seen on current models.
Aerodynamics take center stage with exaggerated wheel spats, aggressive side intakes, and active elements at the rear. The triangular roof-mounted wing and large diffuser are not only dramatic in appearance but also functional. On command, both can extend outward, effectively lengthening the car’s aerodynamic profile for improved high-speed stability, a novel solution for a small car.
The rear continues the concept’s futuristic theme, with a dark, full-width glass treatment replacing traditional body panels. There’s another illuminated badge and Compass motif, while the entire tailgate appears to be sculpted from Perspex, giving the back end a sleek, tech-forward feel that could preview the direction of future production hatchbacks.
Inside, the Corsa GSE Vision Concept is pure fantasy, but it’s packed with innovation. There’s no traditional dashboard. Instead, a backlit fabric panel delivers ambient driving data, supported by a head-up display for key information. A fixed racing seat is paired with an adjustable pedal box, while a yoke-style steering wheel enhances the futuristic vibe. One standout feature is the glowing “rocket” button, designed as a push-to-pass boost for maximum motor output.
Subtle design details like hidden shark motifs, floating seatbacks, and cross-hatch patterns reinforce the concept’s attention to storytelling and brand DNA. Though much of this interior won’t reach production, the focus on simplicity, minimalism, and driver engagement hints strongly at where the next-gen Corsa GSE might be heading.
While this is not a real-world production model, the Opel and Vauxhall Corsa GSE Gran Turismo Vision Concept is far from pure fantasy. It signals a new era of dynamic electric hatchbacks from the brand and introduces key design themes that are already starting to appear in their evolving lineup. Expect to see toned-down but clearly inspired elements of this wild virtual racer in future showroom-ready models, and possibly a production Corsa GSE that brings some of this digital flair to life.
