Great Combo
Fuck this race.
i might be one of the only people who is really enjoying this race, but i drive best at circuits with walls so... 🤪
Pretty sad that top speed is being showcased as "SKILL" Again because of unblanced BOP and not the ability to maintain corner speed (AKA actually handle a car). Just brake botch the corner and let acceleration and top speed do the work. Then sit in the slip and divebomb into the car infront, run them wide and drive off. half the fools that play this game are pathetic drivers. every week they bank on the car to do 80% of there lap time. this is a good race when drivers race clean. im in the Porsche as always and its so dishearting to see someone that cant drive, stuff up corners but yet still catch you before the next corner when they were 1+sec behind. Purely because of a CARS! top speed. Not an ability to drive. Im 600 points away from obtaining my second A+ rank account and I'v Yo'yoed within the last 49,000 to 49,800 point range because i get taken out and beaten by some A or B rank that cant do more than 2 consistant laps without hitting a wall or Tanking a corner. ONLY for them to be keeping up through slipstream and a cars top speed. I then get divebombed on the last lap after they have been overtaken 6 times throughout the race because there so garbage and only keeping up because of there car choice and Only in my lobby because of a lucky qualifying lap not actual skill.
I liken it to someone throwing a pen at a bottle trying to get it to land in the opening at the top. they sit there for hours and hours and get lucky. Do it 10 times in a row!!. its the Same deal sit within 0.200 of that qualy time you set for ten laps. they can't. honestly even lap within 0.500 they cant.
Great race! But Pathetic Drivers holding onto a inflated sense of abilty because of poor BOP balancing. unless your within 0.400 of the car infront when using the Porsche, the slipstream still can't catch the Audi or Supra on the long straights. but they can both run down a 1+ sec gap and overtake you though.
The pure skill that must take, my god how are these drivers not all A+ ranked? there so fast with incredible car control!! 🤣

PD could fix a lot of this by requiring a qualifying lap be set before every single race. And yeah i get that this might not work ideally for top-split since they qualify within thousandths of eachother at times, but for the rest of us slow drivers, it sure would sus out the players who spend all day grinding quali and then can't get close to that pace for a single lap during the actual races.
personally i'm not affected by this since i'm slow af and run in the C & D lobbies but its still annoying when the pole sitter can't come anywhere close to his quali lap and then jams up traffic across the first lap
on another note - when did side-bashing a driver passing with a massive speed differential become a thing? why are players so sensitive and immature that they force a clearly faster car to stay behind becasuse of their insecurities? its so childish.

Well said. It's a weird system that doesn't punish bad driving. Last time I checked racing was a zero contact sport. Granted some contact is unavoidable in racing, but let's be honest the level of contact that's acceptable according to PD is a bit much. Personally I have no issues with not making contact with anyone in a race, I can see what's happening I understand the corner and what's required to get around it. I know what moves I could possibly try to get an overtake and there likelihood of contact. So I don't do them. Trusting someone is going to leave the required space 90% of the time is far to risky. I really really wish PD just had it setup that any contract that noticeably moves another car off its line is a 0.500sec penalty. And the harder the impact the higher the penalty. Like when someone hits your side and you slide 1&1/2 car widths sideways is at minimum a 1-1.5 sec penalty. I'm telling you this would soon clean the driving standards up and fast.
