Week 36 Daily C: 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit GR.1

Like to meet a single person who thinks these cars are better to drive around here than they were last time. Sluggish, under steering hot garbage. Why do they feel slower and less planted than the gr.2 cars did last week? Aren't these supposed to be close to the pinnacle of motor sports? Oh yes, the new physics are great.

Thrilled to get another go at this race. Last time I was only into my 2nd or 3rd week of Sport Mode and couldn't appreciate it to its fullest. Not this time. Very much looking forward to this week's racing. Only slightly disapointed that we'll be racing the same subset of Gr.1 cars as last time. Group B cars deserve more love from PD. Oh well, maybe next time. And might as well have them barrel down the intact Mulsanne. Here's hoping.

I'd be greatful for any tip to help me better manage my car's hybrid assist battery charge. After about 6 laps its pretty much depleted and what I manage to recover under braking from there on out doesn't seem to be enough to sustain optimum lap times. I'm struggling with an electrical energy deficit.

I'm also struggling to recharge much more than before the update.  In the Ferrari, I run out of battery long before the race is over.

I love this race. Peak GT7 for me. I know it's brutal but so fun with the conditions and everything thrown at the driver. Always want more of this. 

This race is difficult but so rewarding

Am i too thick to understand this or is the surface water % shown in the pre-race lobby complete rubish?

I've done about a dozen races across my accounts and only once did it say something other than 0%. And it turned out that the track conditions for all those 0% surface water starts were in fact anywhere from bone dry(as you'd expect), to wet but perfectly fine to race on slicks, to that one time where the full on wet weather tires would have been the right call.

And the only time it said 2% surface water? I figured if there ever was a time to not start on slicks it was this one. Well, I swear, the track was so dry the grass had turned yellow...

Well, it seems the only reliable information is going to Warm-up and looking at the weather radar.

I guess I'll have to start going out on track to see for myself before choosing tires. Thank for the common sense wisdom. 👍

I liked the course and car selection, but everyone is dropping out of the race, so you are just doing laps.  I went from P15 to P6 without passing anyone.  I passed one car because they pitted, and I just had a better tempo.

I hear you. I had a race where I messed up my tire selection; for some reason the game didn’t register that I had put intermediates on. I might have made the choice too close to the end of warm-up. Who knows. 

Anyway, I had to complete the first lap on slicks in one of the only real downpours the game threw at me all week. By the time I had exited the pits with inters I was almost 3 minutes behind the leader and nearly 2 minutes behind 14th position. Without ever seeing another car after the start, I scored a 5th place finish nonetheless.

I currently have 2 active accounts: one for Europe and one for the Americas. This problem is much worse in the latter. And its not all about last week’s race length. I find this sort of thing happens regularly in the usual 22-23 minute daily Cs.
