So on monday I did 3 races, finishing 6th, 11th and 12th respectively. That resulted in me loosing about 500 DR points. Yesterday (tuesday) I did 2 races finishing 7th and 6th respectively and gained about 50 points. I know the points you get is relative the other drivers you are up against, but still. It feels like this race is all risk and no reward for me. When I screw up or get punted off I loose a big chunk of points (yes for a D rank driver like me 500 points is a lot), and when I manage to keep it together and finish rather well I get almost nothing back. I think 5th or 6th is all I can hope for on this track unless I'm willing to spend a lot more time on it, which I'm not.

Think I'll try Daily B for the rest of the week.

I had the same feeling until last week. Then I realised why I am doing this. I love racing. Hard, but clear and fair racing. Am I fast enough? No. There is always room to improve. Am I consistent enough? No. There is still room to improve. Can I avoid bomb divers? No. There is always someone who will be frustrated and ruin your race and enjoyment. I started to swallow the negatives, stopped feeling fed up with DR points because it's not 100% up to me how much I am going to gain per race. I started just driving as fast as I could, racing as clean as I could. Thats it.

That is why I am doing this.

11 months into this, 500 races in, and up to 26K points, this track is a very hard technical track. In order to have fun in gt7 dont tie your drivers worth to the DR, DR points is a function of many factors, not just your own skill level. I will say the margin for error on Laguna is really really slim, if you are C or below, Gr4 cars are a better bet to build skill level. havving said that, i might go to daily B as well.

Just race and enjoy driving, who really cares about DR at the end of the day. Just ignore it and take it as a letter that grants you the ability to race somehow balanced opponents.

You're all absolutely right off course. That's why I went and lost all my DR points in the nations cup at Nurburg last night 🤪

After that I went back to Laguna, and just had fun. I'm about 3 months into GT7 now, so still got a lot progress to look forward to.

Thing is, I used to love Laguna in GT3, 4, 5 and 6. I wonder if it's just the sausages that changed the feel of the track or maybe I just haven't played for too long to rember how it used to be. Just feels very different now in GT7

Just stopping by to check out this website and say hello. Pretty new to the game, so much to learn. Picket up the game after New Year's, spent a few weeks getting licenses, completing the Directory menu, all the AI race stuff. Finally made my way to the Sport Mode last week, it was quite brutal. Had 3 wins but I still had no clue what I was doing, got crushed.

This week started out pretty bad but then I saw this weeks video from Digit and one from Luc on mindset and strategy, changed everything for me. Got a pretty good quali time for a newbie which helped a lot. And then just followed what both Digit's and Luc's videos suggested. Got 5 wins so far this week (D and C lobbies). Out of those, 4 of them were two sets of two wins in a row. Had some close calls where I came in 2nd, last race tonight by 0.003 lol. So long story short, I'm just loving these daily races when I feel prepared, it's so much fun racing actual humans where it counts. For now mostly just focusing on Race IQ, spacial awarness, driving line and breaking points. Everything else shoud improve over time. Oh and as of last Monday its been TC zero, a huge step for me, it still feels surreal... So that's it, hopefully I'll see some of you on the track. Cheers!

I can relate. I hate this track, I have the worse race pace here. I lost over 1000 Dr points but I want to get better at it; so I will just continue racing it until I start producing better results.

The BOP on the Porsche clearly needs looking at. I really liked seeing a variety of cars in Gr3 races for the last few months.

Welcom, pretty good start with that many wins! 500 races in and close 1 year with gran tourismo (first time simming) and only up to 10 wins! 2K points swing for me is still normal. Cant race AI anymore once you go online there is no turning back, best of luck.
