This week brings three new combinations in Gran Turismo 7 for Week 36 of 2026. We're heading to Suzuka Circuit, Watkins Glen International Long Course, and the 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit. It's a properly varied set this week, and Race C looks like the pick of the bunch.
Daily Race A: Suzuka Circuit in the Honda Civic Type R (EK) Touring Car
Suzuka Circuit in Japan spans 5.81 km with 18 corners and 40 m of elevation. It's the figure-eight legend, and every corner matters here. The Esses in the opening sector will split the field on lap one, and 130R still asks a proper question of anyone's commitment.
The Honda Civic Type R (EK) Touring Car on Sports Mediums for just 3 laps is a one-make, so everyone's in the same car and it comes down purely to driving. The EK Civic touring car is front-wheel drive and light, so it's all about carrying momentum and fighting understeer rather than managing power. Slow in and fast out is the approach here, because rushing the entry just washes the front end wide and there's not much grunt to make the time back.
Three laps at a circuit this long is a proper sprint, so qualifying matters enormously. Track position is everything, and with front-drive touring cars in close company, the Esses on lap one are going to be chaotic. Get through the opening sector clean and you're halfway there.
Daily Race B: Watkins Glen International Long Course in Gr.3
Watkins Glen International Long Course in the United States spans 5.42 km with 11 corners and 41 m of elevation, with a longest straight of 0.56 km. It's a fast, flowing American classic with long committed corners and a couple of proper high-speed sections that reward bravery.
Gr.3 on Racing Mediums for 5 laps is the bread-and-butter Daily B format. No pit stops, standard fuel and wear, and a category that rewards clean racing. Watkins Glen suits Gr.3 machinery nicely, with the Esses and the boot section rewarding commitment and smoothness, while the braking zones into Turn 1 and the inner loop offer genuine overtaking opportunities.
Keep it clean through the fast sections and save your moves for the heavier braking zones.
Daily Race C: 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit in Gr.1
The 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit is the headline venue this week, and the tyre list tells you everything you need to know. With Racing Mediums, Intermediates and Wets all available, this is a wet or changeable-weather race, and that transforms it completely. Worth confirming whether there's actual rain or a weather change scheduled, because it changes the entire approach.
Gr.1 prototypes for 14 laps with ×2 fuel and ×4 tyre wear, and no mandatory pit stop listed. Le Mans is a long lap with huge full-throttle sections down the Mulsanne, so ×2 fuel means you'll be managing the tank carefully, and with ×4 wear over 14 laps your tyres won't survive without thought either.
The weather is the real story though. If conditions are wet or drying, your call on Intermediates versus Wets versus slicks becomes the whole race. Reading the conditions correctly and timing your stop to match is worth more than any amount of raw pace, and getting it wrong will drop you out of contention entirely. The Mulsanne chicanes in the wet in a Gr.1 car are genuinely treacherous, so patience over bravery is the way through there. This is the kind of race where a slower driver who reads the weather right comfortably beats a faster driver caught out on the wrong tyres.
Final Thoughts
A really nicely balanced week. The EK Civic one-make at Suzuka will reward momentum driving and a clean opening lap, the Gr.3 race at Watkins Glen will reward commitment through the fast stuff, and the Le Mans Gr.1 race will reward whoever reads the weather and manages their fuel best.
Le Mans is the one we'd circle. Gr.1 prototypes, mixed conditions, and fuel saving over 14 laps is exactly the kind of race that rewards smart drivers over fast ones, and wet-weather Daily Races are always the most memorable.
