i hate that this is set in the daytime. HATE.  😡

After a week of racing Gr4 I'm happy to drive Gr3 cars. 

I am discovering this circuit for the first time in a sim. Feels sterile like many other modern tracks but there are interesting corners to come to grips with. I espacialy like the two off-camber lefts going under the hotel. A nice touch. Once most drivers have gotten up to speed I expect some good racing.

But I agree with you; this track just begs for faster cars. It was designed to host F1 GPs after all.

I'm slightly disappointed it wasn't a Gr1 race, but it's super fun in Gr3 -- excited to see how pitstop strategy will complicate things!

I like the combination, but unfortunately this track is virtually unplayable on the PS4 😞

Welp, that's one way to ruin everybody else's delta score who drives legitimately 

I got a pretty good qualli time now it's gone.

And there are only a few hundred times on the leaderboard now.

What happened?

Oh is that why they seem to have reset all the times? I'm sad because I managed to get a pretty good time now it's gone.

This game is a social experiment,there's no other explanation

This is completely ridiculous! Why did PD erase nearly all of the times? I did a 54.5 yesterday...for me like winning an Oscar. Even the times of the people in my list...come on! 

I understand that some of the times are crazy. I mean, I try to follow the ghost of one of the alien-ish guys from the top 100, drive the exact same line...of course, I get a penalty (and not just one btw). Obviously, the top 100(0) are living in another dimension :D 

How on earth is it even possible to cheat on this track???? 2mm too far beyond and you get penalized :D I love GT7 but it´s getting really hard not to lose it here...

Somehow I did a 54.4 today...but I think, I´ll pass the races this week...I see nearly no chance to race properly without getting penalties.

I feel your pain! Got a couple 54.6's then somehow pulled off a 54.4! I was really happy with that time it was good enough to start near or at the front of the B races and it's so hard to do without penalties like you said.

They really were cheating though. Taking penalty then shorcutting the entire chicane. I would be embarrassed to get my time like that. Have they no shame? Now they messed it up for everyone. Hope they are happy. 

I didn't get that luck yet. I managed 1:53:7 then i wasn't able to reproduce it yet and now my best was 1:53:9 and 1:53:6 with a penalty in the last corner. Maybe later.

I guess it was reseted again.

 They have reset the leaderboards 3 times so far, hopefully no more.

Just managed 52:9 with one hour trying and 85th on leaderboard so hopefully not

Oh no I really hope not I did a 54.1 which is even better than my previous times.

I don't know if I can stand aborting that many penalty laps again trying for a good time.

That time was good enough to put me on pole.

Too bad I finished dead last from penalties but that's another story.

Even after the results were reset for the third time, they continue to cheat.:((((

Well, this week's been a real fuster cluck so far, hasn't it?

Although I'm not invested in the whole let's-set-a-really-good-lap-time-and-etch-my-name-near-the-top-of-the-leaderboard aspect of the game, I understand many people are and this situation must feel very frustrating to say the least. Let's hope it lights a fire under the staff responsible for this sort of thing over at Polyphony Digital and they take the actions necessary to fix this once and for all.

As for me, who's really only interested in what happens on track between the green and checquered flags, if I squint, PD's clumsy attempts at mitigating this exploit's impact have taken Sport mode (squint harder now) a very little bit closer to my ideal: have drivers set their qualifying time in conditions that mimic the start of a race immidiately before they take to the grid. As in; one lap, cold tires, full tank of fuel. You get only one chance to perform and you should feel the pressure. IMHO qualifying must measure how well drivers can manage the tension between their desire to perform and their fear of failure. After all that's exactly what they'll have to do once the green flag drops.

By no means am I argueing against time trialing or keeping a record of participant's results on a leaderboard. This practice can, and should, remain in the game. However, its quite possibly the worst method to set the starting grid of a race. I'm willing to die on that hill.

How many more times am I going to have to set a lap? Cheaters should be stripped of points and put back to E DR

PD Version of qualifying session before each race
