I fell into the trap (being fairly new with GT7 Sports mode), and I regret doing this race several times.

Indeed, there really is no choice to what car to take. It's a bit infuriating that although I take my corners better than some others, they still pass me by easily or get further away, just because they drive a Viper, WRX or whatelse, while I'm driving the Porsche '22. I'm not that experienced with Gr 3 cars, so I tend to stick with the one I'm familiar with.

This race almost decreased my DR from C to D. So I'm not taking any risks anymore. I get screwed in the first corner. And get penalized for other drivers mistakes. And a lot of drivers that try to take the corner while you're already taking them, and just run you over. And don't get penalized for it.

I don't mind losing from my own mistakes, but not because of others bad driving or intentional agressive take-overs. It's hard to stay sportmanship-like with such drivers.

Interesting to see new drivers perspectives as well like mine. Honestly though I think the game is still rewarding, and it rewards being fast. In daily race C this week it started of so so for me for a few races, when I started farther back in the fi…

2:22:0 : Sure you're talking about Monza? My qualify time was 1:52:something and fast drivers were between 1:48 and 1:51.

I do enjoyed it still and also follow drivers like Luc Nodaro, Kizzi, Digit, Hogston, Snake, and such. With only a few weeks under my belt, I still have lots to go through (really need to learn manual shifting, as it seems a skill where I can gain extra speed).
Luc's 4 rules are great, but not always applicable in the shorter races (like this Monza was), where there are a lot of agressive drivers.

The track suits me, but the race is dificult for me. I had a couple of races too many occur to me that made me fly of the track... by my own mistake, but also due to errors of other drivers.. they are forgiven =)

Yeah, I thought that layout would stay in world circuits forever, nobody could have guessed that this would be a daily race. If they choose this track for a daily race, who knows what else may happen to sport mode.
Also does anyone know a way to practice this track with BoP? I cannot think of any way to

Wait, what???? Nurnburgring reverse? That's insane!!! I didn't even know it was possible. I still suck at the regular one! lol

What's next, Franchorchamps reverse? Going down the Raidillon?

I'm going to double down. This is the worse race ever. What is DR and SR? Like really, I get penalized for other peoples dirty driving, it is such BS.
THE VIPER HAS TO GO!

Is there any way to select that layout to make a lobby with it? And is there no way to have BoP on for the time trial mode on world circuits? If not, I don't see any way anyone could actually properly practice this combination. I guess doing laps without BoP would help but it would be better if it was exactly like what the daily race would be :(

I honestly do not know what to say. This showed up in the results, and it looks like it is going to be a crazy combination.

Thank you for posting the future races so early this week.

I have a question about race C - is Nurburgring Endurance 2 the reverse layout of the endurance layout?

If so, I think this will be one of the craziest daily races ever, especially races on Monday, as everyone will basically have to relearn the whole Nordschliefe. I think any practice before Monday on that layout would be extremely advantageous in doing really well.

I'm literally surviving because of those videos 🤣 Luc, Digit, Kizzi and Rory are my heros hahaha

Every time I drive... "do not engage a group of cars".

Interesting to see new drivers perspectives as well like mine. Honestly though I think the game is still rewarding, and it rewards being fast. In daily race C this week it started of so so for me for a few races, when I started farther back in the field, so I really focused on the quali lap. Got it down to 2.22.0 and started on pole and won from pole. Basically just have to put in the time and become faster. Once I get into b lobbies I'm interested in seeing if things are a bit different.

I think the game does a fairly good job of matchmaking based on your skills, yes its not perfect and there is always risk because not everyone is going to behave and drive perfectly. It's definitely the most fun I've had in a long time. 😀

Also have to shout out to the main streamers and you tubers who do videos about how to drive the tracks, these are a huge help when starting out!

Being super-duper brand new (i've been racing the dailys for 3 whole weeks, and I'm new to sim racing as well) I expect to be stuck in the D lobby for a quite a while.  So i'm trying to find something to learn out of every race, even if that "something" this week is where to put my car so I can avoid as many of the collisions as possible, but even that has been a hilarious fail.

Originally having skipped qualifying, I started one race in 15th. The driver in 16th still managed to rear-end me at full speed, thus we took out more than half the grid as they were turning into T1. As furious as I was, I tried to laugh it off and then the game became how many places can I climb despite the absolute horrific start. I love the C-race but I feel like I'm learning traffic navigation better in the B-race.

I was racing in the A lobby this week and lost all my points due to “incidents.” In A lobby I usually start somewhere in the midfield. After that I dropped down to the B lobby and started on the front row, but the same saga continued, more dirty “incidents.”

Does it get better? Yes and no. Some races are definitely structured better. However, this particular race is pretty bad because the Viper has unreal straight-line speed. I can be half a second ahead, and someone in a Viper will still catch up to me right before the first turn. It’s ridiculous.

They get the illusion that they’re faster because of the straight-line speed, but then they take forever to get through the first corner and end up slowing everyone else down with their nonsense.

Yeah fair enough I get that, and I appreciate the input. I just sort of had enough and started doing daily race C instead and had more positive results for sure. Still alot of fun though!

I only started racing online around October last year. Have progressed to high B DR and S SR since then on controller only (will progress to ful sim set up this year). This is the first time Monza has come up while I've been playing and I must say I that turn 1 could possibly be the most unique I have seen so far. We all know it's tricky but I think actual application is far different than anything else I've played. In race, first lap, the cold tyre model is vastly different to the cold or warm tyre model in time trial, and I think many people struggle with this initially. Also, lap two onwards, coming off the long straight and mega drafting makes the braking considerably different than anything in TT. I got caught a few times with this and unintentionally sent a few people off track. All this to say, even in high B / low A lobbies there is likely a skill issue associated with T1, not necessarily a problem with sportsmanship. As the week has progressed for me, I have seen much better conduct through this corner. I think a lot of people mean well at T1, they just haven't been prepared for it.

People in these lobbies just dont care. You try to drive clean and leave space and someone literally just rams you from the back or the side. It's brutal, frustrating and annoying, and it's not just Monza. Just gotta try to get through this part of the journey I guess...It's like other drivers think you are out to get them or something just because you are passing them. Does it really get better in "B" and "A" lobbies? I need some guidence because it's very frustrating.

Nope sorry this race gets a 3 out of 10 for me. It's a high powered daily race A. I'm getting flash backs of Daytona and sardegna. Viper has far too much straight line speed. Honestly this game does a good job of giving the illusion of choice. Straig…

The hard tyres make it even worse, just make it mediums or softs if there is no tyre wear or strategy PD?

You're right, that viper needs to be nerfed or removed. It is the same thing in Deep Forest, I hate that ugly car. It's so weird to drive in VR, so I don't even bother. It makes no sense how that car is faster than modern day cars, it's ridiculous.

It is HORRIBLE in VR. That steering wheel!

I'm brand new to this and I can't even imagine how we're going to get through Turn-1 in D-lobby :-((

DR B was no better in any of my races. Starting way behind or at the front will serve you well. Half of the pack will be sideways at that corner

Thanks for the great advice. And you were 100% correct. I skipped qualifying, started 14th in my first two races, and finished 7th & 8th by just driving.
