How to Check Your Driver Rating (DR) in Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 tracks your Driver Rating down to the exact point, but only shows you a letter. Here's how DR and Safety Rating work, and how to check your real DR points with our stats tool.

What is Driver Rating in GT7?

Driver Rating, or DR, measures how fast and how consistent you are in Sport Mode. Finishing ahead of players with a higher rating, setting strong lap times and completing your races all push it up. Quitting races pulls it down. Behind the scenes, DR runs from 0 to 150,000 points, but the game never shows you that number. All you see is a letter rank from E to S.

That letter covers a huge range. An A+ driver could be sitting on 50,001 points or 140,000, and those are two very different drivers. This is the gap our tool fills.

Here's how the letter ranks map to DR points. S is reserved for World Tour players, so for almost everyone, A+ is the top of the ladder.

Rank DR Points Range
SWorld Tour players
A+50,000 – 150,000
A30,000 – 49,999
B10,000 – 29,999
C4,000 – 9,999
D0 – 3,999
ENew players with fewer than 5 races

What is Safety Rating in GT7?

Safety Rating, or SR, measures how clean you race. If you keep making contact or pushing people off the track, it drops quickly. If you race cleanly, it climbs, and the game matches you with other clean drivers. For matchmaking, SR matters even more than DR.

SR S starts at 80 points, but there's an unofficial line at 90 that matters more than most players realise. Drivers below 90 can be left out of the top lobbies, even if their DR is high. So SR isn't a nice extra. If you want the best races, it's the first thing to protect.

C20 – 39

How to check your exact DR points

Start by searching for your PSN username in our player database. Open your profile and click "Check DR Stats". You'll see your estimated DR points, how much you gained or lost in your last race, and your trend over time. You can also see where you stand against everyone else on our DR leaderboard, and how DR and SR are spread across the whole player base on our GT7 statistics page.

How to improve your Driver Rating

Protect your Safety Rating first. A high DR with a low SR still puts you in messy lobbies, which makes it much harder to climb. Once your SR is solid, DR comes from beating drivers rated higher than you and doing it consistently. One great result followed by three crashes won't move you anywhere. Finishing every race matters too, because quitting hurts both ratings at once.

Check your profile in our database after every few races to see what's actually working. It's much easier to fix a habit when you can see what it does to your points.
