PlayStation has just accidentally leaked the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 update, confirming four new cars but, unfortunately, no new tracks. This breaks the usual pattern for GT7 updates, where Kazunori Yamauchi typically teases silhouettes a day before release. This time, the leak came through the PlayStation home screen, though the information was quickly removed.
The 1.59 update will include the following cars:
• Suzuki Carry KC – a quirky little kei truck that’s sure to spark some wild engine swap builds. Not the most competitive, but definitely a fun and unexpected addition.
• Honda CR-V Hybrid – probably a one-and-done drive for most players. It’s not exactly what you’d expect or hope for in a racing sim, but it’s there.
• Ferrari 812 Superfast – featuring a glorious 6.5L V12. Easily the highlight of this update, bringing some serious power and elegance to the lineup.
• Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06 – a true performance icon and a great piece of American sports car history. Glad to see this generation represented.
While the cars are a mixed bag, the lack of a new track is a bit disappointing. Hopefully, future updates shift the focus more toward racing content. Right now, it's hard not to wonder if most of Polyphony Digital’s resources are being pulled into developing Gran Turismo 8.
Let’s hope the next update brings more balance and gives us something truly exciting to race on.
