A new chapter is about to begin for the legendary sim racing franchise. Assetto Corsa Rally has been officially announced at the SimRacing Expo 2025, marking the series’ first leap into the world of rallying. The game is set to launch in Steam Early Access on November 13, priced at £24.99 / €29.99 / $29.99.
A New Team Takes the Wheel
For the first time, Kunos Simulazioni isn’t leading development. Instead, Supernova Games Studios, a new Italian studio formed in 2021 under Digital Bros Group, is taking charge. Kunos remains involved as a technical partner, ensuring the game stays true to the simulation standards that define the Assetto Corsa name.
Rallying, the Assetto Corsa Way
Built on a modified version of the Assetto Corsa physics engine, the new title has been redesigned for gravel, tarmac, jumps, and unpredictable conditions. Developers promise an authentic rally simulation with a strong focus on realism and immersion.
Early previews describe the handling as pure simulation, offering the same attention to physics that made the original Assetto Corsa a benchmark in racing realism.
Authentic Locations, Real Co-Drivers
Every stage in Assetto Corsa Rally is laser-scanned from real-world rally locations, a first for the genre. The Early Access release will feature 33 km of stages, four special stages with 18 variants, and five game modes, with the action set across Wales and Alsace.
To complete the experience, pace notes are recorded by professional rally co-drivers, bringing realistic calls to every turn and jump.
The Cars
At launch, players can take the wheel of ten rally machines from Group B, WRC, and Rally2 classes, all recreated with laser scanning, CAD data, and realistic audio. The game also features a full physical and visual damage model that directly affects car performance.
Confirmed cars so far include:
• Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Junior Gr.2 – 1972
• Citroen Xsara WRC – 2001
• Fiat 131 Abarth Gr.4 – 1976
• FIAT 124 Sport Abarth Rally 16V Gr.4 – 1973

Features and Roadmap
The Early Access version supports triple-screen setups from day one, along with leaderboards and asynchronous time trial events. Full multiplayer will arrive later in development, and VR support is planned for the final release.
Over time, players can expect:
• 120+ km of roads
• 10 stages with 35+ variants
• Five rally locations
• More than 30 cars
• Rally school and career mode
The Vision Behind the Project
With the DiRT Rally series currently dormant, Kunos saw the perfect opportunity to deliver a true-to-life rally sim.
“A rally version of Assetto Corsa has been one of the most frequent requests I’ve received over the years,” said Marco Massarutto, co-founder of Kunos Simulazioni. “Racing against the clock instead of multiple AI drivers lets us push physics and tire modeling further than ever.”
He added, “Combining our physics engine with laser-scanned stages, iconic rally cars, and the expertise of the Supernova team will create an experience fans have been waiting for.”
Play It Soon
If you’re attending the SimRacing Expo, Assetto Corsa Rally is playable now across several booths, including the main Fanatec stage. For everyone else, the wait is short, the game goes live on Steam Early Access on November 13, 2025.
Console versions are planned but not yet confirmed.
