Am i too thick to understand this or is the surface water % shown in the pre-race lobby complete rubish?

I've done about a dozen races across my accounts and only once did it say something other than 0%. And it turned out that the track conditions for all those 0% surface water starts were in fact anywhere from bone dry(as you'd expect), to wet but perfectly fine to race on slicks, to that one time where the full on wet weather tires would have been the right call.

And the only time it said 2% surface water? I figured if there ever was a time to not start on slicks it was this one. Well, I swear, the track was so dry the grass had turned yellow...

Well, it seems the only reliable information is going to Warm-up and looking at the weather radar.

I guess I'll have to start going out on track to see for myself before choosing tires. Thank for the common sense wisdom. 👍

I found this car surprisingly pleasant to drive, and love a bit of 'ring action. I have to say I prefer the fake gears vs a quiet 1-gear EV which I find makes it much harder to gauge speed. The need to hold the overtake button permanently requiring a rubber band around my controller is dumb; they should just disable boost buttons on timetrials.

I am a DS driver, and my driving has improved considerably the past couple months.  I'm getting good qualifying times and winning races, but I constantly get booted due to network issues.  Is that treated the same as quitting during a race?  The reason I ask is because I was a CA driver a few months ago, but dropped down to D and now it seems like I cannot get my C back no matter how much better I'm driving.  Could my newtork errors be causing my driving score to stay in the basement?

Yes, unfortunately, a disconnect is treated much like quitting a race. You'll lose a significant amount of DR each time you're disconnected, so frequent network issues could definitely be preventing your Driver Rating from recovering, even if your qualifying times and race results have improved.

The laptimes kept dropping until last day, this encouraged me to keep pushing.

I see many dislikes but for me, I'm in love with this car and the new physics (except.for Gr.3) cars feel a bit off and flabby.

Happy racing everyone!

I have found that the car rotates much more if you back off the brake just a tiny bit (like 5%) after the initial application. Think of it like initiating trail braking much sooner and with more force on the pedal than usual. Hope that makes sense; it's kind of hard to put into words...

yes, that defintely makes sense! i've been experimenting with different braking applications since the update -- i'll focus more on this intentionally today, thanks so much!

I'm struggling so much this week, I can't seem to get the car to rotate (BMW Sprint) which is ultra frustrating because I had some of the best drives of my life at Yas Marina (in the Jag) and last week in the gr2 cars. I've run practice sessions in nearly all the gr3 cars and the BMW, GTR, and the 296 are the only cars I seem to be able to extract any decent pace out of, but my problem with rotation is consistent no matter what I'm driving.  Any tips?

set brake balance more towards rear end

I always set it to +5 (rear)
