...so at this point it's not even worth trying other cars? they seem to be notably disadvantaged this round 😡
I wouldn't say so. Maybe it depends on the lobbies are you in. I had three races today with the Vette, and in the B lobbies you can find other cars as well, but not many. Last race I was in there were 13 Genesiseseses out of 16 cars. First race I started almost from the back (P13) without qualifying, finished on P3, then I set a qualy lap, started from P6 and P7, finished on P5 (after I got turned around and resumed the race on P11) and P4. Racing around me was clean, apart from that one incident. Many people made mistakes, such as clipping a wall at Death Chicane, slipping to Narnia via cerbs, or rushing optimistically past the very last braking point, etc.
Later in the week it might get more difficult to land in the DR gaining region...

Okay, I know it is impossible, but I just drove an identical time on this course for Race A as I did last week at Suzuka. In two different cars on two different tracks, just one week apart, my time was 7:39.722 in both races. Yes, I'm a statistician-want-to-be. I have all my times from almost all my races, and in the two years I've been playing GT, I've never had two races with finishing times anywhere close to a prior race's time. Just a very crazy anomaly. And I really hate the RCZ Gr.3 Road Car.
Love the track, hate the cars
A clean run here is very satisfying though, especially when there are pileups in the lobby
God I hate the elantra with a passion.

Should make for good racing

Much better than Red Bull to be honest, the latter's layout is lame as hell.

Great daily, I really like it, but genesis makes the race bad... way too fast, you can't even be competitive with other cars
I confidently say that the skill gap is still there. I'm (Corvette) three seconds behind the current No.1 (Genesis). B lobbies...

I liked the course and car selection, but everyone is dropping out of the race, so you are just doing laps. I went from P15 to P6 without passing anyone. I passed one car because they pitted, and I just had a better tempo.

They absolute should fix the penality and contact algo, in a BS lobby a lot of people make classic hit n run at corner. GT7 doesn't add penality if you hit someone during a corner so its easy to make takeovers in this cheating way
Word!!! It's crazy how many times I lost races this week in the last round in the 3rd last corner. My opponents just gave me a push and so my race was done! It looked like the guys were waiting for it. Didn't even try to overtake in an normal way during the race! It's so annoying. Right now I wish I could go back to the high C level racing was much cleaner.

RReplying to RS·Well, it seems the only reliable information is going to Warm-up and looking at the weather radar.
I guess I'll have to start going out on track to see for myself before choosing tires. Thank for the common sense wisdom. 👍

I've done about a dozen races across my accounts and only once did it say something other than 0%. And it turned out that the track conditions for all those 0% surface water starts were in fact anywhere from bone dry(as you'd expect), to wet but perfectly fine to race on slicks, to that one time where the full on wet weather tires would have been the right call.
And the only time it said 2% surface water? I figured if there ever was a time to not start on slicks it was this one. Well, I swear, the track was so dry the grass had turned yellow...

I have found that the car rotates much more if you back off the brake just a tiny bit (like 5%) after the initial application. Think of it like initiating trail braking much sooner and with more force on the pedal than usual. Hope that makes sense;…
yes, that defintely makes sense! i've been experimenting with different braking applications since the update -- i'll focus more on this intentionally today, thanks so much!
