Fanatec DD+

Do you know if the Fanatec DD Pro has protection against over-revving when downshifting. It seems to me that some cars simply cannot shift down. With Gr1, Gr2 and Gr3 it is no problem, but with Gr4 I have to be more careful with downshifting. Is my reasoning about the engine over-revving protection correct? Fanatec doesn't have the protection, but the game does, it's there to prevent overuse of engine braking.

Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to get more "road noise" with settings on the Fanatec GT DD Extreme (15nm)?  I just moved over from a Logitech g923 and I'm having a hard time thinking the Logitech was vastly superior in feedback but my Fanatec just feels numb.

 On my console I have the setting at 5 & 10 otherwise the wheel is atrociously heavy and I still get no sensations. WTF?

Is there some sort of glitch with the fanatec wheels where the game completely crashes when the wheel isn't fully updated to latest firmware? I saw it on Tidgneys video I think last week, and I am wondering if that happens often or not. I am thinking of buying a fanatec wheel - would that make it not worth buying?

That was an issue with older firmware versions in the past, but with the latest firmware those problems are gone. As long as you keep your wheel updated, you shouldn't run into it.

Hello, is the fanatec gran turismo dd pro a good choice for a direct drive wheel? I want to upgrade from a thrustmaster T248, so wanted a significant upgrade. In terms of lower budget direct drive wheels it seemed good as it is also upgradable so I don't have to pay as much initially and can upgrade it over time. Is that the best option, or are there better options?

I just upgraded to the Gran Turismo DD Extreme and now that I have my settings finally sorted out, I'm very pleased. It's quite a powerful base but I didn't want to have to upgrade it again.

I'm not in love with the wheel itself, will probably replace it with something else at some point but it came with the base and for now it's doing the job. 

It will be a good choice! And as you said you can upgrade over the time as the whole Fanatec ecosystem is open to you. You will even get FullForce with a future update.
