Bro, why are you so obssessed with me?? 🤠

Please go and see a psychologist. If you’re any older than 17-18, ie a friggin adult man, you definitely have a problem. (I thought) this conversation ended days ago, but you’ve been stalking my progress since then in the hopes that you could 'prove your point', at something like 3am Perth time on a Sunday, to a bunch of people you don’t know, who you’ll likely never meet, and who don’t give a sh*t about what you’re saying. As a literally 40 something year old man, I almost feel weird devoting the energy to arguing with you about this, but the fact is, nobody here cares about your very particular point about what defines the difference between mid tier and high tear performance. I can advise from my experience as high B / low A driver, that over the last few weeks I have been regularly placing mid to top of the field amongst other B and A (ie similarly skilled) drivers and that driving hygiene in these races has been generally very good. No deliberately dirty driving whatsoever, and very few mistakes from myself or other drivers that causes incidents with other drivers.

How 'bout you get off the rig and the keyboard for the rest of the weekend? Will probably do wonders for your self esteem and mental health.

This is perfect you have just swapped to the M6 after using the Audi and crushed your Original time and have placed yourself 0.023 behind myself in the Porsche. Also placing you in one of your highest leaderboard placings in the GR3 category ever. If this doesn't perfectly point out what I have been saying in this entire chat the whole time. BROKEN BOP!!! False positives of reflections of skill. Low ranked poor drivers placing unrealistic times and being paired with better drivers that lead to  incidents in races is the direct byproduct of this broken meta car system. There is no argument based on any facts that can prove otherwise. Your result is the perfect example of what I mean.

Curious if you've ever found that being a condescending asshole has ever helped you convince people of your opinions? Willing to bet not. You must be aware of your tone, and if I recall correctly, you come on here regularly with conduct like this. What’s the point of coming on here just to stand over everyone and act like this?  Just about everyone here except for you is trying to put forward their argument in a measured and polite manner, yet you keep coming back acting like a prick. I can't imagine staying so frustrated for so many days about something that has so very little baring over my own personal wellbeing. So weird. Go and get some fresh air and some perspective.

please see the very first post in this chat. And possibly read all other related post to understand what contex my position is derived from. I do apologise but having to reply to people that have misinterpreted the topic or selected a specific aspect without holding continuity with the subject is tiresome. Hey man good question actually, on what i learned thus far it takes way more than the 7 days time of a daily race to master a single car and that kind of mastery is something open to discuss on it's own. A few weeks back i did a nice lap using the GTR in Kyoto Yamagiya and i spent a lot of time with that single car there, but i don't think i'm nowhere near of understanding absolutely every single concept of the car so i don't think i'm a master of it i would say i simply learned how to get a good amount of it's capacities on that one specific track, but if i had to drive on let's say: Lago Maggiore i would need to spend a lot of time until i get to a really good pace as a did in kyoto

Hey man, i'm not a legend of a fast driver but i've been around for a while on GTSPORT and GT7.

Talking about your question on feeling a lot of pressure at the end of the races, that's something you'll get used with time, the kinda stuff you need to do again and again until it feels natural to be in that place. It's quite hard to tell one big tip that gonna help you with that since everyone's gonna have a different solutions that suits then better. But for me when i'm really tense it's really helpful to release air that i inhaled through my mouth, the feeling in my chest helps me calm down even if it's a tinny bit.

Also i like to keep recalling stuff i'm my mind like: "oh this corner i brake where" or "when i get in point "x" on track i need to do this"

I cannot for the life of me find a car that works for me here. I'm horrible in the M6 and keep oversteering almost everything else I've tried to drive. 😖  I had a lot of confidence in the gr4 race a while back, this is frustrating.   Also... WHAT THE…

You missed the point.

What IS the point then? That we should stick to one car throughout the game? One thing I always loved about the GT series, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, is the fact that you get to drive lots of different cars on lots of different tracks. If someone enjoys focusing on one particular car or track, that's fine by me but personally I like the variety.

That said I'm usually driving the Porche in GR3 sports mode because it's the car I'm most comfortable with and since I'm not a very good driver I usually can't profit from whatever advantage the meta car offers. Straight line speed or corner exit acceleration advantage are useless to me since I suck at trottle controll on exit anyway. lol.

In Gr4 I can usually use more of a variety of cars, except the Attenza that is often meta but simply doesn't work for me.

Anyway, that's just my modest, D rank opinion/observation.

I'd also put forward the argument that a more well rounded driver is able to be succesful in more than just one car every week.

I understand the backlash. Those that choose the meta car each week are naturally defensive of their times and want to believe it's their skill that got them there. That's a completely understandable reaction. But the reality is, filter any leaderboard by car and your position tells a very different story to the one the overall ranking does.

As for the Porsche, BoP data isn't opinion. Under current BoP the Viper runs 11.06s to 400m. The Porsche 992 runs 12.50s. The 991 runs 12.62s. Both Porsches are dead last in Gr.3 acceleration 52nd and 51st out of 52 cars. And both extremely unpredictable over curbs. Mid speed tracks are where it car hold up but still looses out when time is made from the ability to ride over curbs like most cars without loosing considerable time crash. A 1:43.500 in the car best suited to the track and a 1:44.000 in a car that's statistically the slowest and harder to control in the class are not the same achievement.

And here's the question nobody wants to answer, is changing to the meta car each week actually making you a better driver? Is your times a true representation of your car control? You're learning a new car every 7 days, never developing a deep understanding of any of them, and relying on the BoP advantage to produce lap times your driving alone can't. The drivers who commit to one car learn its limits intimately, develop technique that transfers across every track and car, and know exactly what's them and what's the car. Can everyone swapping to the meta each week say the same?

Try the R8. It doesn't quite have the turn in that the M6 has, but you can generally manage that with braking. It's great out of the corners, and pretty stable at the bus stop. I am about .500 of a second faster in the R8 here. First time I've proper…

Thank you!! Oh gosh this car feels so much better, and I ran a new PB in a test-race which kinda surprised me. Really appreciate the suggestion.

Which car do you believe has the best acceleration in group 3 and which car also do you think can handle the bumps best

The Viper has the best acceleration in Gr3 statistically. And the GTR is the best for stability over curbs.

Did I really just read that garbage. "these players are just pushing for lap times and not DR". 🤔 Not that I even mentioned chasing Dr in the first place but I'll address what you think. If these B DR drivers just chase lap times I would see them high up in the leaderboards each week. I don't. I'll say it again. You ONLY see the AVERAGE B Dr drivers that hold a B dr because there not consistently quick each week, high on the leaderboards on weeks were one car is a clear META car for the track that takes the least amount of car control to be quick in. I'll stay up here thanks looking down on all the sheep in there pen. I'll just point out that I only run on statistics and logic. Arguments thrown at me with how you feel, don't win. I can run all the data comparing all the cars and how well they do each week against drivers weekly consistency and show you I 100% correct. But if you want to argue feelings find fairy tail game to argue over.

Well real world BOP sets a 0.500sec variable not 1.5sec when I see average B rank drivers within 1 sec of the top time that screams broken Bop and ridiculously easy meta car to drive at the limit. A lot like the WRX at redbull or the viper and sardeg…

Really just read an arguement on if the 911 is meta or not. Simply put the 911 for GR.3 is turning into what the citreon is for GR.4

Oh please read that back to yourself and see if any of it make sense. I use the porsche because I like Porsche's i always have. I don't swap and change each week like a little sheep putting in unrealistic times in comparison to my actual skill level…

I get what you’re saying now, and I respect that you stick with the Porsche because you genuinely enjoy driving it instead of chasing whatever’s strongest each week. That’s fair.

I think where we disagree is mostly on what ‘meta’ means. A car doesn’t have to dominate every top split to still be considered very strong or commonly favored for certain tracks/combinations. The Porsche clearly works well in the hands of good drivers, including yours, otherwise we wouldn’t keep seeing competitive times with it.

I also agree that driver skill matters more than just picking the ‘best’ car. A comfortable driver in a car they understand will usually outperform someone constantly switching cars chasing an advantage.

At the end of the day we probably just value different things: you prioritize consistency and mastering one car, while others look more at leaderboard trends and track-specific advantages. Nothing wrong with either approach.

Well said sometimes I don't understand how a game can spark such arguments

Living vicariously through a game has its moments, but let's face it, the vast majority of us won't even come close to actually racing for a team. This game is about having fun whilst trying to be the best you can.

What happened to the Atenza Gr4 looks like we lost 0,3s compared to last february with the same conditions, is it me who drives slower or the BoP have changed in between?
