Thank you very much.  Is there anyone who can speak to the specific differences between Real / Weak / Custom?  And do these settings, as defined by PD, change from update to update?

Generally on GT7 to be in the slipstream you need to be directly behind the car in front or taking the same line as them round corners and be within 1 second of them (in general).

Depending on the slipstream setting on GT7 (chosen by PD when they setup the online races for the week) can depend on how must of a boost you get from the slipstream and if you encounter dirty air or not round the corners.

Having seen your recent video on the dirty air topic with regard to Gr2 @ Laggo, I was hoping someone might give me a good explanation of this. From watching the streamers - it seems you can "get in the slip" and it pulls you up.  But I have never on…

Copied from a YouTube comment

"Slipstream : Driving very close to the car in front of you

What does it do? Reduces downforce, sends the wind over your car, helping you go faster, but also reduces stability around the corners, where this wind turns into dirty wind.

On straights : Less downforce required for more speed

On corners: More downforce required for more stability"

Having seen your recent video on the dirty air topic with regard to Gr2 @ Laggo, I was hoping someone might give me a good explanation of this.

From watching the streamers - it seems you can "get in the slip" and it pulls you up.  But I have never once gotten behind someone and thought "wow, I'm suddenly going faster and can now overtake this guy!"  (Is that Custom Slip?)

I have gone side-by-side at the esses of Deep Forest and lost all control all of a sudden.  I think I was in a Radical.  Was that dirty air giving me no downforce?

How close do you have to be to pick up the slipstream from the person in front?  What's the "danger zone" from the wake in front?  Is it just air molecules that are less dense, and therefore less downforce available for your car, and is that a problem on a straight too or just when you are turning?  (And is that only on Real setting?)

Is there a slipstream advantage to the person in front as well, if you are very close behind, smoothing out the dirty air behind them?  (There is IRL, but I mean in GT7)

Thanks in advance!

If anyone is interested, here is my telemetry data from my best lap: https://delta.coachdaveacademy.com/shared/fxCpP1

The link is valid for the next 7 days.

I've not been too long online for daily races, but it feels very repetitive also. And this BoP needs some adjustments too :) Should be possible to squeeze a few more races too, not only A,B and C.

This race can be good if people in your lobby know how to brake into t1, if they don't then you just get punted every single time wothout fail.

I find I can be allergic to Metas.  I must have done 20 laps in the Mazda and couldn't get below 2:13.7.  Switched to the Scirocco and within a couple of laps beat it, ended up with 2:13.2 fairly consistenly.  Back in the Mazda and I was back up to 2…

Absolutely true. If I can I'll try to use something other than the meta car in a race. But sometime, at least as a B-rated driver, it's difficult to be in a different car than the other drivers. Different cars will behave in different ways on the track (braking, accelerating, cornering speed) and not everybody is capable of taking that into account.

For sure my first choice wouldn't be a FF car in a race, I tend to go for MR cars, but that is way I like it in this weeks race that you have to choose a FF car. This way everybody is in the same boat and you also get to drive the FF cars without suffering the, let's call it different, driving characteristics.

The custom slip makes it that you really have to work together on this narrow track to get the best out of it. When you find somebody that is willing to do that and not battle all 9 laps it's very enjoyable.

This race is fun but only with people you know because otherwise it gets stale and the custom slip makes it too easy to follow around this track especially the uphill.

I've never driven the FF Gr4 cars before and I have to say I don't particulary enjoy them, but for me the Mazda is defo not the best.  I'll focus on the Scirocco for the rest of the week and see if I can fall in love with them.

Gr. 4 does make racing at Bathurst a little easier than gr. 3. Also due to the limitation on car choices you also get to drive other cars than the standard meta's.

Apparently Mazda is back... didn't see this coming 😨
